Employment Opportunities at Rillito Nursery and Garden Center

Employment Requirements and Job Descriptions

Employees must understand working at a nursery and garden center is a physically demanding job. Daily work may include bending and heavy lifting. You will be on your feet a lot so it is advisable to wear good shoes. Employees are expected to dress appropriately for the weather and dress with no visible tattoos. Employees are expected to be drug-free.

Nursery employees are expected to perform the following duties:

• Greet customers
• Assist customers with plant selection
• Help load customer purchases
• Water nursery stock
• Maintain nursery stock, for example, pruning, fertilizing, and blocking
• Price and put away merchandise
• Be on your feet for 4-8 hours per day
• Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Walk on uneven surfaces
• Be able to lift 50 lbs regularly
• Bend at the waist often throughout the day
